    Triangle Doulas of Color is a doula agency providing pregnancy support, birth doula services, postpartum doula services, childbirth classes, placenta encapsulation, breastfeeding classes, lactation support, and a mom's group to build community among mothers and families in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding areas of North Carolina.


    We are passionate about making a positive impact on the Black Maternal Health crisis through Education, Advocacy, Support, and Empowerment. ​

    What is a doula?





    A doula is someone who provides informational, emotional, and physical support through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period to aid in the achievement of the healthiest and most satisfying experience possible.

    Why you need a doula





    Doula-Support is associated with:

    28% lower risk of C-Section

    31% less likely to use Pitocin

    9% less likely to use any pain medication

    34% less likely to rate their childbirth

    experience negatively


    Research by DONA International shows that women who used doulas overall had shorter labors with fewer complications and less medical intervention.


    Those women were also more likely to have greater success with breastfeeding and have babies born with higher APGAR scores.


    Continuous labor support provided by a doula may improve outcomes for mothers and babies.
